Vatican City: Pope Francis said that it’s the weak and vulnerable who are most valuable in God’s eyes, and stressed that it’s always him who takes the initiative in meeting us where we are.</div>

“God meets the men and women of every time and place in the concrete situation in which they find themselves. He also comes to encounter us,” the Pope said, adding that “it’s always he who makes the first step.”</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Francis explained that it is God who “comes to visit us with his mercy, to lift us from the dust of our sins; he lends us a hand in rising from the abyss into which our pride has made us fall.”</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
He also invites us to welcome “the consoling truth of the Gospel” into our hearts and to walk along the path of goodness, the Pope said, noting that this isn’t done through our own initiative, but God’s, because “it’s always he who comes to look for us.”</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Pope Francis directed his address to pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square for his Angelus address. Among them were a group of youth from Catholic Action in Rome, an organization dedicated to promoting and defending faith and family values inspired by the teachings of the Catholic Church.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
After passing through the Holy Door in St. Peter’s Square as part of their annual “Caravan of Peace,” the children prayed the Angelus with the Pope before releasing balloons as a sign of their desire for a more peaceful, less indifferent world.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
In his reflections, Pope Francis focused on the day’s Gospel passage from Luke, in which Jesus, after first amazing the inhabitants of his native town of Nazareth with his insightful preaching, is thrown out of the temple and threatened with death.</div>

Once Jesus read the passage of Scripture from the prophet Isaiah speaking of the future Messiah, he tells his listeners that “today this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.”</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The Pope recalled that as soon as Jesus said this the people were amazed by his authority, but then begin to murmur, asking themselves “is this not the son of Joseph?”</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Jesus respond by saying that “no prophet is accepted in his own native land.”</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
After recounting the passage, Francis said that it’s not simply the story of “a dispute among companions, as sometimes happens, caused by envy and jealousy.” Instead, the passage points to a temptation that “every religious person is exposed to” and which frequently creates distance.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This temptation consists of “considering religion as a human investment and, as a consequence, seeking to bargain with God pursuing one’s own interests,” Francis said, emphasizing that “all of us are exposed” to it.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Instead, religion means welcoming the revelation of God, “who is Father and who takes care of each one of his creatures, even the smallest and most insignificant in the eyes of man,” he said.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
“This is precisely what the prophetic ministry of Jesus consists of: announcing that no human condition can constitute grounds for exclusion from the heart of the Father, and that the only privilege in the eyes of God is that of not being privileged, of being abandoned into his hands.”</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Francis noted that when Jesus says “today this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing,” his reference to “today” is something that applies to every person in every age.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
“It also resounds for us in this square, reminding us of the relevance and the necessity of the salvation Jesus brings to humanity,” he said, adding that God is always the one to act first.</div>

Pope Francis concluded his address by explaining that Mary was likely present in the temple on the day Jesus read the passage from Isaiah.</div>

By seeing Jesus admired by the people, then challenged by them and finally threatened with death, she had “a small anticipation of what she would suffer beneath the Cross,” he said, noting that she kept all these things in her heart, which was “full of faith.”</div>

He asked for her intercession in converting from adherence to “a god of miracles to the miracle of God, which is Jesus Christ,” and led pilgrims in reciting the traditional Marian prayer.</div>

One day, after celebrating Mass, the aged Pope Leo XIII was in conference with the Cardinals, suddenly he sank to the floor in a deep swoon. Physicians who hastened to his side could find no trace of his pulse and feared that he had expired. However, after a short interval the Holy Father regained consciousness and exclaimed with great emotion: “Oh, what a horrible picture I have been permitted to see!” He had been shown a vision of evil spirits who had been released from Hell and their efforts to destroy the Church. But in the midst of the horror the archangel St. Michael appeared and cast satan and his legions into the abyss of hell. Soon afterwards Pope Leo XIII composed the following prayer to Saint Michael.... 
 
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host - by the Divine Power of God - cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits, who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. 
 
May this Prayer Strengthen us for the Spiritual Battle we are told about in the Letter to the Ephesians: ‘Draw Strength from the Lord and from His Mighty Power’ (Ephesians 6:10). The Book of Revelation refers to this same Battle, recalling before our eyes the Image of Saint Michael the Archangel (Revelation 12:7). Pope Leo XIII certainly had a very Vivid Recollection of this scene when, at the End of the last Century, he introduced a Special Prayer to Saint Michael throughout the Church. Although this Prayer is no longer recited at the end of Mass, I ask everyone not to forget it and to recite it to obtain help in the Battle against Forces of Darkness and against the Spirit of this World. - Pope John Paul II

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said “I don’t think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat.” 
 
“Is the man of the house home?”, they asked. “No”, she said. “He’s out.” 
 
“Then we cannot come in,” they replied. In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. 
 
“Go tell them I am home and invite them in!” The woman went out and invited the men in. “We do not go into a House together,” they replied. “Why is that?” she wanted to know. One of the old men explained: “His name is Wealth,” he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, “He is Success, and I am Love.” Then he added, “Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home.” 
 
The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. “How nice!!,” he said. “Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!” 
His wife disagreed. “My dear, why don’t we invite Success?” Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: “Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!” 
 
“Let us heed our daughter-in-law’s advice,” said the husband to his wife. “Go out and invite Love to be our guest.” 
 
The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, “Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest.” Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: “I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?” 
 
The old men replied together: “If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would’ve stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him.  
Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!!!!!!”

 Suddenly there was a violent earth quake, an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled the stone away and sat on it” (Mt.28:2).   
 
Resurrection is the blessed reminder that, even when things seem hopeless, when all appears to be lost, there is still hope.  Resurrection is the energy of the holy, as it is nurtured in human experience. This energy cannot be confined to a tomb or narrated in a single story, but is a lived experience.  The energy of resurrection is like a sacred earthquake that shakes the foundations of doubt and leads to faith in the risen Lord. It bursts forth in our lives when ever stones of fear and doubt are rolled away. New life can emerge with resurrection energy, if we roll away stones that would imprison our hope, faith and love.  This is the foundation of our faith: “The Lord is risen indeed!” 
 
In life we undergo innumerable little deaths: losing our reputation and expectation, losing dear and near ones, losing our having and being, collapsing our plans and projects, sickness and loneliness etc.; but we are called to rise from these little deaths.  God calls us to resurrection each and every day, with new strength and vigour.  Resurrection is a reality that cannot be taught, but is a unique and personal experience.  It is possible only through an act of total surrender in love, faith and hope.  Let’s make a total surrender to Jesus and experience resurrection from all kinds of deaths and imprisonment.  
 
“Very early on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Salome brought spices to anoint Jesus.  They had been saying to one another, who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?”(Mt.28:1-2).  The stone was too big for women to roll away, but they had trusted the words of Abraham - the Father of faith, who said, “God himself will provide”.  Having belonged to the weaker sections of the society, they had arrived at the tomb without men, which showed their trust in God’s assistance and providence in their genuine need.   
 
Who will roll away the stone for us?  God who knows their heaviness of hearts because of the cruel death of their beloved, heard their silent prayer and sent down an angel to roll away the stone.  It is fitting to note that the angel came down from heaven rolled away the stone and sat on it.  The  angel sitting on the stone means two things: primarily, that heaven (God) is involved in the matter and is worthy to be believed, secondly, Christ’s triumph over death, that he conquered death for ever, he could no longer remain in the tomb and now reigns as the living God.   
 
“Who will roll away the stone for us?”  God himself sends angels for us time to time to roll away the stones which stand like mountains before us. The stones appear in many forms in our lives.  The struggles of life, sickness, burden of sins, loneliness, poverty, failures, injustice and having deprived of rights etc.  At times they appear in our lives as huge stones too heavy to roll away.  If we take a flash look at our past we can know the times and occasions when God sent down angels to roll back the stones stood like mountains impossible to move by ourselves.  While the angels were disguised and appeared in human form, we might have failed to recognize them as angels sent by God. 
 
“Who will roll away the stone for us?  Our God is a living God who hears the cry of His children and sends angels to rescue us, as He sent an angel along with Jacob when he was in danger.  In gratitude for God’s generosity in sending angels, we need to help him in turn in finding angels to send for our brothers and sisters who cry out to him for help to roll away the stones by which they are enslaved in.  When the stones are rolled away a new life is gained and we become resurrected people and begin to sing Halleluia. May the celebration of Easter enable us to live as resurrected people and roll away the stones from other’s lives which have entombed them.

Human beings have always been tempted to pierce through the mys tery of their future. One should be proud to be a Roman Catholic and live your life according to the Word of God and not according to the standards of the world. One should refrain himself/herself from reading horoscope, as it is sin.  In Deuteronomy 18:10-14, it is written 'Let no one be found among you who  sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the Lord your God. The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so.' 
 
You shall have no fortune-tellers among you 
Astrology means predicting the future. But we see in the book of Daniel, at three occasions (Daniel 4:7; 2:10,11; 5:7,8);  astrologers and other occult experts were requested to envisage the future. On every occasion they failed, but Daniel could succeed by God's power.  In the book of Deuteronomy 18:9-14,18-22 bible condemns magicians and fortune-tellers and then praises the true prophets. God's people live by the Word of God, not only by the word found written in a book, but by what God says through the prophets. 
 
Our future is in the hands of God 
We see in the book of James 4:14 that no one can predict what will happen in the future. Whereas in the book of Daniel 2:27,28 we see Astrologers could not interpret Nebuchadnezzar's dream (a prediction of the future), but God could do so. In Isaiah 41:21-23; 42:8,9 - God rests His claim to Deity on His ability to predict the future. He challenges idols to prove they are gods by telling the future. In Jeremiah 29:11, 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'  In Isaiah 46:10, we see 'I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.  
 
I say, 'My purpose will stand.'  So it is evident from the bible that our future lies in the hands of God. We are seeking to have a eternal life which can be achieved only we obey and live according to the decrees of the word of God.  In John 11:25-26. Jesus said, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?' 
 
Entrust and surrender your life to Jesus 
Live your life according to the Word of God. This life which we are living is a gift from God. 'Every word of God is tried and purified; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him.' (Proverbs 30: 5). Again it is written in the Bible 'For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power making it active, operative, energizing, and effective; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and the immortal spirit, and of joints and marrow of the deepest parts of our nature, exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart (Hebrews 4: 12). Daily we should live based on the law of God. 'Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law' (Psalm 119: 18). Surrender your life to Jesus. Romans 12: 2 says 'Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will.' Wisdom does not come from stars but from God.  In James 1:5, we can see that 'If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.'   
True meaning of Life 
As the potter moulds the pot, in the same way Jesus Christ is the potter and we are the clay. He moul-ds and makes us into a beautiful being. Our character is also formed by our Lord. The only source where our character is formed is through the Word of God. By living according to the Word of God, we can be confident in Jesus and put our future into His hands and be prepared for the future. We should not forget we all are sinners. Salvation, forgiveness of our sins and eternal life is achieved through Jesus Christ who died upon the cross for our sins to have eternal life. Why to go behind magicians and astrologers to know our future? Our hope is in the Lord, so is our destiny. Believe in Lord Jesus Christ, you and your family will be saved.

Catholic belief, writes Father Husslein, S.J. 'does not rest with merely acknowledging the existence of guardian spirits given us by God. It goes further and asserts as of absolute certainty that every human being has his/her own Guardian Angel. In the next place, it is also a universal Catholic belief that not merely every just man, every child of grace, but in fact every single human being here upon earth, whether Christian or non-Christian, whether in grace or in sin, actually remains during its entire life under the care of a Guardian Angel. It suffices to describe this as absolutely certain. Moreover, it is generally held that each human being has its own distinct Guardian Angel not assigned to anyone else.' The words of our Lord also point to this conclusion: 'See that you despise not one of these little ones. For, I say to you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.' 
 
The ministry of these Guardian Angles consists:  
 
1. In warding off dangers to body and soul 
2. In preventing Satan's suggesting evil thoughts and in removing occasions of sin and helping us to overcome temptation. 
3. In enlightening and instructing us and fostering in us holy thoughts and pious desires.  
4. In offering to God our prayers and in praying for us 
5. In correcting us if we sin 
6. In helping us in the agony of death, in strengthening and comforting us. 
7. In conducting our souls to heaven or to purgatory to console us there. 
 
It is thus our Guardian Angels watch over us, keep us, lead us. They see in their charges, souls of priceless value since they were redeemed by the Blood of God. 
Although they cannot penetrate the inner sanctuary of human hearts which God has reserved for himself, they do all they can to help us. However, it is in our power by an act of our free will to expose our intimate thoughts to our angelic companion. And it is to our advantage for such confidence in his enlightened guidance is of great benefit to our soul. After God and our Blessed Mother, he is surely our best friend, and if we really love him, we will have no secrets to hide from him. We do not sensibly perceive him. We hear no whispered warnings in our ear. Our hands cannot touch him nor do our eyes look up to him. Yet invisibly he is with us. From the first moment of life he guards us and he will not have completed his task until as we trust, we shall gaze with him in glory on the vision of God. 
 
Father Faber, one of the greatest writers over the celestial beings, touchingly describes the solicitude of our Angel Guardians: 'Ever at our side is being lived a golden life. A princely Spirit is there, who sees God and enjoys the bewildering splendors of His face even there where He is, nearer than the limits of our outstretched arms. An unseen warfare is waging round our steps, but that beautiful Spirit lets not so much as the sound of it vex our ears. He fights for us and asks no thanks, but hides his silent victories and continues to gaze upon God. His tenderness for us is above all words. His office will last beyond the grace, until at length it merges into a still sweeter tie of something like heavenly equality, when on the morning of the resurrection we pledge each other, in those first moments, to an endless blessed love.  
Till then we shall never know from how many dangers he has delivered us, nor how much of our salvation is actually due to him. Meanwhile he merits nothing by the solicitudes of his office. He is beyond the power of meriting, for he has attained the sight of God. His work is a work of love, because his sweet presence at our side he knows to be a part of God's eternal creative love towards our particular soul.' 
 
In him we have an unseen friend and benefactor, an intimate and never failing companion in our journey through life. How often perhaps have we almost felt his presence and his power upbearing and rescuing us from danger! How indeed shall we ever repay him for the love that he has shown us?  
Let us ask the Precious Blood to be our thank-offering for so great a favor as his companionship.
